The Road is a Lonely Place…

Yes indeed it is. I travel a lot and recently was cleaning out my bag and found my stash of hotel key cards. I won’t tell you how many I had, it’s just way to sad. I’m not sure why I have horded them. Since I’m a creature of habit I try to stay at only a few hotel chains so that where ever I am, I feel like I know where I am. So, I bunched them  up and dropped them off at the front desk where I am staying and the “clerk”? What do we call those people? front desk clerk, checkin person…well anyway he said “Floyd, man, your suppose to turn these in…” he addressed me by my first name! Ok, I have stayed at this hotel many times but are we really on a first name basis. So, Here is my top ten list for when you know you travel to much.

  1.  The hotel clerk gives you the same room over and over again.
  2. You refuse to eat out when your home.
  3. Your luggage is the first thing you see in your closet.
  4. The TSA guy doesn’t even look at your boarding pass anymore.
  5. You don’t have time to use all your miles and travel points you have accumulated.
  6. You know which flight path you will be on, on any given day.
  7. You know when the pilot is new… just a bit over on the runway are we?
  8. The drive to the airport and the flight all feel like one commute.
  9. You don’t take the free drinks in first class and your in first class because you travel so much.
  10. You’ve mastered the funky hangers that fit in and not on the bar in your room .
